International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is an internationally acclaimed as well as standardised for assessing the English language proficiency for non-native English language speaking candidates that aspire to travel to various parts of the globe for study and/ or immigration purposes. It is a mandatory English proficiency test taken by British, Australian, and New Zealand, Canadian & US universities for secondary, vocational, higher education & research programs.
IELTS is concurrently managed by the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations, British Council and IDP Education Australia: IELTS Australia. IELTS examination has two types with minor differences between the two: IELTS Academic (study purpose) and IELTS General Training (immigration purpose).
